The Chicago Open tournaments were all 7 round Swiss events with a total prize fund of $100,000 unconditionally guaranteed!  The games took place over the Memorial Day weekend in Oak Brook (near Chicago), Illinois.

Final Results

Grandmaster Vadim Milov beat Grandmaster Yury Shulman in the Armageddon playoff match at the end of a late evening in Oak Brook to claim the title of Chicago Open Champion 2007.

Both players finished top of the standings with 6 points in a tie for first place, with both players drawing their last round games and drawing with each other in round 5.

Grandmasters Merab Gagunashvili, Zviad Izoria, Sergey Erenburg and Valeriy Aveskulov finished in 3rd-6th, all scoring 5½.

Final Standings for all sections have now been posted!
