Sudbury River Chess 2006 Fall Classic

Grandmaster Alexander Ivanov is the Sudbury River Chess 2006 Fall Classic Champion after sweeping the field in the first 4 rounds to go along with his half-point bye in the final round. Eugene Yanayt finished in second place after he and Max Enkin agreed to a quick draw in the last round. John Curdo joined Enkin in joint third after finishing up with a win against Daniel Lowinger.

In the Under 2100 Section Scott Didham accepted a draw after an hours play against Haizhou Xu, which in the end turned out to be enough for first place by himself as Leonid Tkach, the only player who could catch him, drew his final game.

The Under 1700 Section was won by Harold Dondis who quickly accepted a draw in the last game against Yuvel Shemesh to ensure the win. Tim Bromley finished in second place by himself by virtue of a last round win against James Magner.

The Under 1300 Section finished with a tie for first with Jason Anshewitz and Antonio Damato finishing tied at the top, both scoring 2/4.
